- It's good to see more things that a support a nonviolent way of being. I am an ex-soldier who during my second deployment took off my uniform after experiencing Truth first hand. I have had my major slips and am finding a nonviolent life is actually tougher to maintain in America than in a war zone. Ironic thing is, I never got wounded in Iraq, but I got stabbed one month ago in downtown Louisville. Seems like our attention is focused in the wrong manner and in the wrong location. I think that all matters of reality lie within. My struggle is keeping my mind from overthinking myself out of the present..At this moment...I am truely grateful for the gifts brought from within.

Essay for Nonviolence
Essay for Nonviolence - $100 Award
Purpose: To expose students to the many types of nonviolent theory and practice,
and how these can be applied to their everyday lives.
Eligibility: Any student, grades 9-12, attending Louisville schools (public or private).
- home schooled students are eligible if they are of the equivalent grade.
Requirements:
-Essay must include two of the individuals listed below. One of
which MUST be Mohandas Gandhi.
