Hi Terri,
you are doing great work. Maybe we could do something together.
What will you do 1st of May 2012? It is Global Love Day and you are living in the area of the BIG HUG event. Maybe you like to participate. Information about the topic you can find when you visit my profile. See you there. :o)
With unconditional Love

Hi Terri ...thanks for following my blog! I sell my original art,,,,at this point I haven't made cards, prints or anything else for that matter from my images. Have been thinking about it though. I would be willing to allow an organization to use an image only if it was to help a cause I believe in. I would not allow open use of my images without consent.
Peace~

Dear Terri,
what a nice comment of yours. Yes, Gandhi might become an inspiration again - I just prepare a small English language exhibition on him - if you like I can send you a CD (just need your post address or that of Nonviolent Peaceforce Oregon.
Good wishes,
Christian

I think same here in China: people know very little about Gandhi. I also like the book by Eknath Easwaran, especially because of its photographs - they bring Gandhi really close. I read it in our temple library.
Maybe I start center for nonviolence here. I want people to know more about nonviolence not only as philosophy but as way of life. Actually, my province (Fujian) has a peace loving culture and people would be receptive for teachings of Gandhi and others, if they knew more about him.
Let's see.
Now I have to get ready for my journey.
Bye,
Mai

Hello Terri,
I'm glad you like my photographs - it's my great hobby. Yours are also nice.
Reading Gandhi's autobiography do you find a difference in how he is perceived in the US, or, better: how you perceived him before?
Has Nonviolent Peaceforce a branch in China?
On Thursday I go to visit my family in the countryside for 2 weeks, where there is no internet yet.
Greetings from Xiamen,
Mai

A New Study Confirms What We Already Knew - Nonviolence Works

I don't usually post other people's work, but this study is important to those who study nonviolence.

Nonviolence Is The Right Choice—It Works

By Amitabh Pal, October 30, 2008

Nonviolent resistance is not only the morally superior choice. It is also twice as effective as the violent variety.

That's the startling and reassuring discovery by Maria Stephan and Erica Chenoweth, who analyzed an astonishing 323 resistance campaigns from 1900 to 2006.… Continue

Urgent Invitation for Arabic speakers to support Nonviolent Activists In Iraq!

Micheal Nagler, author of "The Search for a Nonviolent Future" and founder of the Metta Center (mettacenter.org), has provided some valuable insight into the use of nonviolence in the complex scenario faced by the citizens of Iraq. He has requested that his short video interview be transcribed into Arabic.

La' Onf - Women Lead the Way Toward Nonviolence in Iraq

Iraq just completed it's third annual week of Nonviolence. This update came to me
from the September 11th Families For Peaceful Tomorrows. I find it very
encouraging but realize they have a long road ahead. May we all stand in
solidarity with these brave people and they engage in nonviolent struggle.

Blessing the Bomb - Father George Zabelka

I'm felt compelled to post Father Zabelka's speech as a follow-up to my previous post. I hope that his words can reach out to the hearts of the Chirstian community, and call them back to Christ. Like Gandhi, I like Christ, it's the Christians that pain me. Father George saw how the US Government was manipulating and brainwashing christians then, and the same is true today. What I don't understand is why the churches don't put a stop to it from the pulpits - why they are so fast to embrace ideas… Continue

Meaningful Sacrifice - Christ's Gift to Humanity

I'm over half way through Gandhi's autobiography, "The Story of my Experiments with Truth", which is available in pdf on the web at http://www.forget-me.net/en/Gandhi/autobiography.pdf

What has struck me over and over again is his continuing effort to gain control of mind and body through bramacharya vows (celibacy), changes in diet, and changes in lifestyle. Gandhi was Hindu, but only after doing an extensive evaluation of other world religions including Christianity and Islam. He discusses hi… Continue
